The 1st Linton Scout Group was formed in 1934 as
part of the Granta District.
Our group consists of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts,
and takes young people from Linton and the
surrounding villages.

Calling all ex-Linton Scouts - can you help us? |
|
We are looking for information about the Linton Scouting Group.
We know that the group has been in existence for several years,
either as a Linton group or twinned with our neighbouring village
Abington; we have our own records dating back to 1934.
We are looking for old photographs of the group and for you to tell
us about your memories of its past, any information you can give us
will help us to build up a better picture of our past, we look forward
to hearing from you, thank you very much for your help.
We are planning on Celebrating our Anniversary towards the end of November,
and would love you to join us, watch this space for further news!

Camping 2009 |
|

|
The Scouts camped at Skreens Park Camp and Activity Centre, Roxwell, Chelmsford in May.
They were lucky enough to have mainly good weather and the scouts reportedly had a great time!
The Family camp was held in Abington at our local scouts campsite during June, it was also a very successful event.
This is generally a great time to get all the families together,
for them to experience what it is like to be a member of scouts,
and join in activities that they wouldn't normally get to do - we had around
140 people this year!.
A Big Thank You to Everyone for making it a fantastic event!

Summer Camps Planned for 2009 |

For the Scouts Summer Camp trip this year they will be returning to Tolmers
Activity Camp from the 25th July-1st August. The price for this camp is:- £160.00

The Cubs are going to Thriftwood Activity Centre in Brentwood from the 18th to 20th July

The infamous Linton Scouts Duck Race is coming up,
where our brave ducks race down the Granta!

Linton Fireworks Night 7th November |

The celebrated Linton Fireworks always put on a spectacular show,
don't forget to visit the hot food stand where the Scouts group
will be serving delicious burgers & hot dogs!

each week until the end of Term. Scouts meet
on Wednesdays, Beavers and Cubs meet on
Thursdays.
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts do not meet during
school holidays. |
